ABOUT KRISTOFFER KULLENGREN

Kristoffer Kullengren is a known Swedish artist. His unique integration of paintings and technology has led him become one of the most innovative Swedish artists in Asia. In 2018, he was among the first in the world to apply AR technology in his Between Dream and Reality exhibition at the first national contemporary art museum in the west of China, Xi An Contemporary Art Museum, to be quickly followed by his first digitally gamified art exhibition at Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai. In early 2021, his first NFT solo exhibition in Tokyo was accoladed by Bijutsutecho, the leading Art Media in Asia, for his leading impact for NFT in Japan.

Transeo expresses through 69 artworks a narrative of finding the constant of principles, values and simple joy in life as an antidote against chaos and disruptions. The exhibition starts with the first two chapters, 'Digital Delusion' and 'Chaos', by introducing the artwork 'These Are Not Apples', to mean a metaphor that technology is the 'apple of wisdom' that humans have unknowingly eaten. Technology, a double-edged sword, has brought unimaginable opportunities for economic wealth, yet has also left the world countless problems unsolved. With technology's non-stop development, we are bound to live in the constant change with emotional chaos. Therefore, the exhibition takes audience to a journey in the latter half to explore what resonates true as the constant for inner peace, spiritual balance and emotional enrichment. One is the sensitivity to appreciate the simple joy in life. In the end, the exhibition circles back to 'chaos is where order derives', suggesting that though we are living in a chaotic time, the values and principles we hold, the warm relationships we have and our kind hearts will certainly carry us through any disruptive time.
